Calling school leaders, veteran or new to the position, to prioritize this professional development to objectively ensure high-quality instruction is the norm in your school. By creating a professional culture of learning, students benefit from enhanced classroom teacher instruction. JIGSAW School is a WIN-WIN---for evaluators and students!
JIGSAW School was initiated in 2019 by Dr. Jo Swain, retired administrator from Billings, Montana. My professional career included serving as an elementary principal and as a higher education professor. These two positions provided me the drive and motivation to assist school leaders in all aspects of educator evaluation. Antiquated educator evaluation systems are fading away for the better replaced by an instructional growth model designed to assist educators in identified areas of growth. This philosophical shift requires evaluators today to commit to significantly different procedures and processes. Thus, the mission of JIGSAW Consulting is to enhance school leaders' confidence and competence in all aspects of teacher evaluation.
Creating a JIGSAW School account is free. Access to the statewide community link, "Instructional School Leaders in Montana and Beyond" is activated upon registration. Access to the collaborate community is free. JIGSAW School provides leaders with three specific levels of courses, novice, proficient and advanced. The course is designed as a "learning path" providing specific course topics for level of understanding. The novice level is introductory level information followed by the other two levels to enhance the learning further. Each learning path is $225, however, if all three are purchased there is a significant reduction in cost.
